Thursday Thoughts for Parents | "A Global Mission"

Thursday parenting featured

This post is based on Rich Richardson's sermon, A Global Mission, given on December 3, 2017.

It's a statistical fact that more parties are thrown in the U.S. during the month of December than any other month. I especially like church parties because I know my closest friends will be there. In Revelation 19:6-9, John records a celebration that he witnessed in his prophetic vision of a day that is to come. This celebration will be overflowing with the grace of God. It will be more magnificent than any party you've ever been to. It's called the "marriage supper of the Lamb," and marks the joining of our Savior Jesus Christ to his church, made up of every person who was ever saved from eternal destruction by Jesus' sacrifice on the cross.

Those of us who are Christians have already received our invitations. In his grace, God the Father has called us to put our faith and hope in his son Jesus. We have also been called to extend this invitation to others. It's our joy to faithfully share this great news with other people who do not yet know the love of God.

Read Rev. 19:6-9

  • What do you like most about parties (playing with your friends, eating cake and ice cream, or getting presents)?
  • How do we get an invitation to Jesus’ party?
  • Is there anyone you know who hasn’t put their hope in Christ? Those people need to hear what Jesus has done for them.
  • Prayerfully consider how you can share the gospel with people you know so they can get an invitation as well.
