Fall Internships
Summer is coming to a close and in only a few short weeks, school will begin again. As we gear up for the Fall semester, we want to make sure that you are aware of the internship opportunities available at Sovereign Grace Church of Louisville. These internships are aimed toward teaching men and women about doctrine and theology and equipping them for ministry in the local church. There are currently three different internship tracks open for applications.
Internship with Brian Chesemore:
This internship focuses on discussing books and articles related to discipleship and practical ministry in the church. Interns meet with Brian on a weekly basis for discussion and a Q&A time. In addition, everyone enrolled in this internship is required to serve in a variety of ways with SGCL.
Internship with Bob Kauflin:
Bob Kauflin serves as our primary worship leader at SGCL and is the Director of Sovereign Grace Music. This internship focuses on understanding the purpose of music ministry in the local church as well as developing personal musical gifting. Interns are afforded the opportunity to meet with Bob on a weekly basis to study and discuss music, church liturgy, and worship ministry. They are also able to observe and serve with Bob on Sunday mornings in a variety of roles.
Internship with C.J. Mahaney:
The Ministry Internship (MI) operates as part of--and fulfills the requirements for-- the Ministry Apprenticeship Program at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. It is designed to introduce up to 12 students over the course of two semesters to books and practices informing pastoral and lay ministry. These topics primarily include leadership, pastoral ministry, discipleship, biblical counseling, and preaching. The internship is approximately 10 hour/week program that consists of reading, serving responsibilities in the church, and weekly 2 hour meetings with CJ for service review, book discussion, and Q&A.
If you are interested in finding out more about the internship program and the different tracks available at SGCL, we will be holding a Internship Information Meeting on Sunday, August 17th at either 9am or 12:30pm.
If you would like to begin the application process, you can access the internship page on our website.
