The preaching event, being addressed by God through the reading and proclamation of His Word, is the most important event in the life of this church every week. - C.J. Mahaney
We are currently exploring Paul's letter to the Philippians on Sunday mornings. There are a number of reasons we thought Philippians would be a great book to study as the church begins. The theme of joy is prominent in the book of Philippians, coinciding with the joy we experience at the start of a new church. Paul's words are rooted in mission and partnership in the gospel. The glory of Christ is unpacked in different sections and there are wonderful texts on Christian living and the unity we have in Christ. It is a relational, theological, and missional book. Perfect for a new church, or any church for that matter.
We anticipate that we'll know and love the Savior more as a result of studying this divinely inspired letter, particularly as we scale the heights of Philippians 2:5-11. And as we ascend that description of our crucified, risen, and exalted Lord, we pray and anticipate that the view will take our breath away and fill us with gratefulness and unspeakable joy.
